Music to Travel By : Top 10

Traveling definitely helps to release some crazy negative energy that you may have been harvesting over time. Mostly because (once off the plane), you are at ease and in "vacation mode". Maybe also because someone may be handing you a margarita, mimosa, or martini.

OR perhaps it is simply because you left the weight of the world back at the security check.

Now, if you are not traveling any time soon and you still want to get away... the cheapest and most effective tactic is to pour your own margarita ...and listen to music.

But not just any music.

Music that will embody that "easy living" feeling.

You want to feel weightlessness via bpms.

These days, thanks to Kygo and good tropical house music, you can escape across the ocean with the click of a button.

Or If you'd like to be off the beach and into the mountains, you've got Bon Iver for that.

Also, Spotify does a nice job of pin pointing different travel escapes.

Anyway, if you are entrusting me with this job...

... these are my current / throwback travel tunes that always get me pumped to plan a trip or songs that would flow through my ear canal while paddling through the Grand Canal.

Enjoy!

1 (2-for-1) Oceans Away / Cross My Mind - A R I Z O N A

Basically anything A R I Z O N A, with their ethereal synthesizing.

I would just make the whole list A R I Z O N A, but I have to vary my offerings.

However, also worth checking out by A R I Z O N A: Ain't Gonna Leave, Electric Touch, I Was Wrong

2 Babylon - David Gray

Calm, cool, collected

Weekend Warrior Vibes

3 Clearest Blue - CHVRCHES (Gryffin Remix)

CHVRCHES is all the feels

4 American Girl - Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers

How can you not have this on your travel playlist?

Makes you feel important . . . if you are an American girl, I guess.

5 Out of My System - Youngr

Let me just say, I HATED this song when I first heard it...

but then it grew on me.

And it basically talks all about traveling while you're young. Sooooo, it belongs here.

6 Headlights - Robin Schulz (feat. Ilsey)

I imagine listening to this song whilst speeding in a long tunnel.

I would never do that.

I just imagine it.

(PS Don't do that.)

7 Holocene - Bon Iver

Bon Iver could be the whole list, as well.

His music just speaks to the soul.

And transports you to the mountains.

In fact, through my very basic research, it looks like his self-titled album has tracks named after different places (aka very travel-esque)

8 Wait - M83 (Kygo remix)

Had to have some Kygo in here. King of Tropical Dance

This song is slower (eventually it drops like any good dance song), but definitely makes me think of travel and life and things

Minute 1 is where it picks up - heard it live - it is EVERYTHING

9 Charlie Brown - Coldplay

Makes ya feel small.

In a good way.

10 Welcome Home, Son - Radical Face

Road trip music.

Perhaps on your way back from traveling?

BONUS JONAS!!!!

11. Anything Fleetwood

Gypsy, specifically.

* The Lumineers came in a close Bonus Jonas 2.0.

Anyway, hope you felt miles away while clicking through this post! If you have suggestions, I would LOVE to hear from you. Leave a comment! I can edit posts for the people!

Happy listening!

SkÅl, y'all xx
