A lot has happened since I last flooded your screen with an overwhelming number of words, a cute plethora of gifs, and signed off with "skål".
You see, in that large chunk of time (a month, give or take), I turned.
No, not Twilight style.
Worse.
I turned 30.
And survived!
Is being 30 as awful as I had imagined?
In short:
I didn't automatically look like Betty White
(no offense, Betty, u kewt and all, but u 90)
...and didn't immediately yell at kids to get off my lawn.
So I think I am doing okay.
I truly believe what eased this upsetting change of age-related digits is that my friends and family know that I am nuts, saw the writing on the wall, and decided to throw me a surprise party to ease the pain and suffering a little earlier.
Like 2 weeks earlier!
Like, I literally thought I was going to a wedding-food-tasting evening with my sister and her fiance.
When I really think about it now, the whole thing doesn't make sense...
is there even such a thing as a food tasting for a wedding?
Cake testing, yes.
But food tasting?
Nah.
So I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, [and] lead astray!!!
Ja Rule reference. See, I am still youthful!

Also, my family took me to Vegas,
which is exactly the place you send someone who is going through stuff, teetering on the edge of sanity
(jk)
But no, we really went and it was FANTASTIC.
We traveled on desolate roads, Route 66, ate at a Diners, Dives, and Drive Thrus
(or whatever order they place 'em in), and gambled a bit.
It was a weekend that I will honestly treasure forever because I loved the company and loved the variation of activities;
from the breathtaking views....

. . . to the slots in big casinos . . .

. . . to the most important venture . . .

I mean . . .

So yeah, I turned and survived because of the love of my family and friends.
I am grateful.
I am positive.
I know 30 will be great.
It has to be, dammit.
I thank you for reading about my aging woes.
here's to 30 + more .

*thank you aunt & cousins for the beautiful beautiful gift*
